The Bradford factor is used by some Human Resource departments to measure employee habitual patterns of absence.
A score is calculated for each employee based on how many sick days they take, and how many separate instances those days are spread over.
Different companies have different trigger points to take action on, such as disciplinary actions. It should be noted that the Bradford factor does not take into consideration certain medical conditions that an employee might be suffering from, such as Asthma, Epilepsy, Migraines, and other serious illnesses.
